i.
winter divides
sleep-chatter
bird-scurry
rousting
red berries
to fatten
for spring.
ii.
branches blacken,
lay stark against
crystals and silver
linings against
green blades.
iii.

filters white
and sings to her
cooling love.
iv.
butter-cream sky
brightens early dawn.
the smell of snow
is in the air.
